Journalism

WVIA Public Media

As a news intern at WVIA, I wrote local community news articles for the WVIA website and wrote, recorded, and edited corresponding audio stories that aired on WVIA-FM, using Adobe Audition for post-production. Below are stories on an animal shelter rennovation project and Nicholson's Sesquicentennial, as well as a link to all my content published to the WVIA website.

The Beacon

I was editor-in-chief of Wilkes University's collegiate newspaper, The Beacon. I joined The Beacon in the fall of 2021 as an opinion staff writer. I was promoted to assistant opinion editor, then to opinion editor, and then to editor-in-chief. Over four years as a staff member of The Beacon, I have written dozens of articles, including political news articles and opinion pieces. Below is my coverage of Kamala Harris' visit to Wilkes University, an immigration story, and a link to view all my online content that has been published to The Beacon website.

Other Articles

Outside of The Beacon, I have experience writing journalistic articles as class assignments. Below, there are two articles written for COM 309: Crime and Political Reporting: a local election story on the 119th District race and a story on what the upcoming Trump administration will mean for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as a profile story written for COM 260: Basic Newswriting.
