Writing & Journalism

The Beacon Newspaper

I serve as editor-in-chief of Wilkes University's collegiate newspaper, The Beacon. I joined The Beacon in the fall of 2021 as an opinion staff writer. I was promoted to assistant opinion editor, then to opinion editor, and then to my current position as editor-in-chief. Over the past four years as a staff member of The Beacon, I have written dozens of articles, including political news articles and opinion pieces.

Below is my coverage of Kamala Harris' visit to Wilkes University, an immigration story, and a link to view all my online content that has been published to The Beacon website.

Other Articles

Outside of The Beacon, I have experience writing journalistic articles as class assignments. Below, there are two articles written for COM 309: Crime and Political Reporting: a local election story on the 119th District race and a story on what the upcoming Trump administration will mean for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as a profile story written for COM 260: Basic Newswriting.

Essays

Below, there are two formal essays: a mock research proposal written for COM 202: Interpersonal Communication and an argumentative literary paper written for ENG 120: Classical Traditions.
